You should, for good reasons, remove that hardware sig and post it in the thread. Noone will ever find this thread usefull if you ever change your sig. But, for google user's sake, remove it from the sig.

When does this error occur? On a specific task? At wich level or whatever? Wich patch of WC3? More info...

I think somebody needs to have a look at the thread title..................
For those who have never touched warcraft III:
1. gets splash screen
2. Video intro on first run
3. Singeplayer standard lobby, with choice of "Single Player, Battle.Net, Lan, Options, Credits, Exit" with comma separating the choices
4. On clicking on Battle.Net you get a realm list up on the first time, but after that it heads for the login
5. It promps for online username and password for realm
6. It authentics
7. You are online and can play against other people.

It crashes on 6. Just when its suppose to open the multiplayer lobby, oh and for good note: the music still plays perfectly sad
Singleplayer works perfectly.
Oh, and running with and without WINEPREFIX(for clean enviroment), does not do any difference.
The only other stuff in the log when running in terminal is regarding alsa, and is spawned before multiplayer is even attempted.

You should, for good reasons, remove that hardware sig and post it in the thread.

Well, for googles sake i think not the minimum requirements for decent laptop running of Warcraft III is on the agenda. Secondly i can not see the relevance, as it can no in be related to RAM or GPU brand.

Select one.

And really REMOVE YOUR HARDWARE SPECS FROM SIGNATURE!
It is useless for us and absolutely useless for search engines. Be a man, not a kid that shows to every1 his hardware specs

Re: Wine: Warcraft III crashed upon auth to battle.net

I'll do it myself

Turion RM-70, 4 gig RAM,
ATI Radeon 3470, 500GB storage
Archlinux 64-bit

Secondly i can not see the relevance, as it can no in be related to RAM or GPU brand.

You obviously seemed to think it was relevant, considering you pointed us to your signature to see your hardware ("hardware and os: See sig").

I know what you mean there smile Actually, the Arch 64 part of your specs could possibly be important, but why people ask for other things is beyond me (speaking in terms of non-hardware related topics).

Re: Wine: Warcraft III crashed upon auth to battle.net

==> ERROR: is not available for the 'x86_64' architecture.
Note that many packages may need a line added to their PKGBUILD
    such as arch=('x86_64').
Error: Makepkg was unable to build wine-w3fix package.

sad
How come mainline is not patched so it works?

Re: Wine: Warcraft III crashed upon auth to battle.net

If you are confident that it will work with x86_64, add 'x86_64' to the arch array in the PKGBUILD

http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=23687

arch=('i686' 'x86_64')

Re: Wine: Warcraft III crashed upon auth to battle.net

*ugh* I give up for now, the package odly enough builds wine from scratch..... the problem is that its only 32-bits.
Will have a look at it later, perhaps build it myself instead.
