Starcraft 2 beta wine crash

Hi all,

Everything worked just fine for Starcraft II Beta, until today. A new SC2 patch was released, patch 14 and after updating, SC2 just crashes after a few seconds and sometimes during startup. I have no idea what the cause of this problem is, and command line output doesn't show anything interesting either.

I tried ubuntu, and everything works just fine. So it should still work.. But it doesn't.

Therefor I guess it's an arch package upgrade that caused this. Is anyone experiencing the same?
I'm running the bin32-wine-sc2 package from aur, but bin32-wine doesn't work either. I also tried a 32bits chroot with the same results.

I did a system upgrade yesterday, and I didn't play anymore until the patch.

Edit; the SC2 error reporter gives an acces violation, nothing interesting either..

Re: Starcraft 2 beta wine crash

Hi,

I got the exact same problem. My error reporter also complains about access violation.

I'm running arch x86_x64 and bin32-wine-sc2. And I have also tried bin32-wine

Would be great if someone had a solution to this problem!

Re: Starcraft 2 beta wine crash

I see serveral people on the app db page (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p … &iId=19376)  with the same problem, I guess it's not arch linux related at all. I'm experiencing the same issue with ubuntu as well now. No idea why it did work before (maybe luck)

Re: Starcraft 2 beta wine crash

For me it started with the latest sc2 patch, so that's probably it. Just weird since it has been working perfectly up 'till now.
I'm still hoping to find a solution. I've gotten quite hooked on sc2, and really don't want to install windows again.
