Hello! I saw on the tint2 homepage http://code.google.com/p/tint2/ that a new version was released. it has new features such as tint2conf which allows you to see all the different themes you have installed for it. Of course there are other things, that just seemed like the biggest change...
Well anyway, I tried to install this myself, but it failed, due to what seems like a problem with the package. So my question is, has anyone else tried out the newest version? I'm just wondering if I'm the only one with this issue...
Btw, it is not in AUR yet, but that's probably cuz it came out 10 days ago.

It is still a beta. We will get it when it's stable.

Coulda swore this was not a distro to not wait for quote "stable"
no?
Bleeding Edge if I remember right.

"Bleeding Edge" means "the latest STABLE upstream" around here. It doesn't mean pulling things from beta or off someone's trunk. (At least most of the time anyway. Arch devs in reality can, and do, package whatever they see fit.)
In any case, this particular software IS marked stable upstream now, and has the out-of-date flag set here for a few days now. (So the answer now is "when somebody gets around to it")

What ataraxia said.
Beta-quality releases may go in the AUR.

Please redirect all "why is this package not the newest version" questions to /dev/null, or Allan's mailbox, whichever you prefer
