This is a pretty minor thing but it's been bugging me. I'm using the mail-notification applet (http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra … ification/) and the icon is broken. It doesn't correct if I change my icon theme. I've tried copying the usr/share/icons/hicolor/... mail-notification icons that came with the install into all kinds of different directories. Does anyone know where this thing is looking for an icon?

mail-notification uses icons from the gnome-icon-theme that were included in 2.28 but now not anymore in 2.30. It's an upstream problem. One icon for example, is /usr/share/icons/gnome/24x24/stock/net/stock_mail.png

I installed gnome-icon-theme (it may have already been installed, actually...) and restarted the mail-notification, but the icon was still broken. I noticed that there wasn't a /stock directory anywhere under /usr/share/icons/gnome/, so i created /usr/share/icons/gnome/24x24/stock/net/stock_mail.png (as well as 16x16 and 32x32) and linked them all to an icon in my icon theme. Now it seems to be ok. Thanks!
Edit: After testing a bit, it looks like you need two icons in /usr/share/icons/gnome/24x24/stock/net/. stock_mail.png and stock_inbox.png
