I honestly think that there's too many FOSS FPS's out there that looks very too much like each other..

I agree.  They're all fun but there's too many of them, and it's fragmented the community.  I like the Nexuiz, World of Padman, Sauerbraten, OpenArena et al well enough, but there's rarely a game going when you want one.  The communities are just too small.

For once, I'm voting for less choice!

I agree with early posts. There are way too many FOSS quake-and-ut-ish fast packed FPS's out there.

It's just a pity that those FOSS game developers don't just invent new ideas, they are just remaking Quake all over again because old id Techs (Quake engines) are open sourced. They don't actually make anything new. There should be more games like Tremulous, games with distinctive ideas, or just other gaming types than "fast packed FPS".
