Volume control for specific programs.

Hi guys,

I was wondering if there was an avalible mixer , that would allow unique volume contro lfor different programs. IN windows vista/7 the volume mixer gives you the option of turning up or down the volume for different applications instead of the system as a whole. THis would be usefullt o mw, because the skype client for linux does not have a built in volume mixer like the one in windows.

Thanks for any posts

Pulseaudio does this, and has much better compatibility with a wide array of applications than OSSv4. Not possible to be done with alsa-only (AFAIK).
