Re: k3b can't find growisofs, cdrdao and cdrecord at every startup.

Are these programs installed in unusual places?

Does the where command show it?  How about whereis?

What does your path look like?

Re: k3b can't find growisofs, cdrdao and cdrecord at every startup.

these programs are installed in /urs/bin/, this is the first path where k3b look for...

[infrid@hal9000 ~]$ whereis cdrdao
cdrdao: /usr/bin/cdrdao /usr/share/cdrdao /usr/share/man/man1/cdrdao.1.gz
[infrid@hal9000 ~]$ whereis growisofs
growisofs: /usr/bin/growisofs /usr/share/man/man1/growisofs.1.gz
[infrid@hal9000 ~]$ whereis cdrecord
cdrecord: /usr/bin/cdrecord /usr/share/man/man1/cdrecord.1.gz
[infrid@hal9000 ~]$ cd /usr/bin/
[infrid@hal9000 bin]$ ls -l cdrdao
-rws--x--- 1 root burning 542700 5 giu 12.08 cdrdao
[infrid@hal9000 bin]$ ls -l cdrecord
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5 11 gen 19.14 cdrecord -> wodim
[infrid@hal9000 bin]$ ls -l wodim
-rws--x--- 1 root burning 354968 11 gen 19.14 wodim
[infrid@hal9000 bin]$ ls -l growisofs

Re: k3b can't find growisofs, cdrdao and cdrecord at every startup.

Sweet.  Next question would be are you part of the burning group?

From what you posted, if you are root, it should work fine, and if you are part o the burning group it has permissions to both read and execute the files.

So what groups is the user that is having problems in?  (groups <username> will tell you)

Re: k3b can't find growisofs, cdrdao and cdrecord at every startup.

I wasn't in burning group, now k3b start normally. thanks
there is another problem, for some reason I can't burn a dvd at 8x and everithing is burning at 4x. k3b complain about my burner or dvd media, I can guarantee that the media and my burner are very good.

It could be a DMA problem, right? but k3b don't complain about it.
