I installed arch on my other notebook just now and after I upgraded and booted up the monitor turns off right when UDev is trying to start. Anyone had this problem yet? I have no idea what`s going on and how to fix this.

udev is a good hint - if I were you I'd check the udev wiki page and go from there
never trust a toad...

I solved it by adding nomodeset as a kernel parameter. Hope this helps everyone else having this issue.
