Problems with netinstaller(64bit) on Toshiba A300-14T

I get a blank screen after(or in the middle of) a kernel initialization. But it happens in 2/3 cases. In 1/3 installer start without problems. I think it's connected with changing a resolution during a boot time.

When I get it working everything is fine until the step when I need to edit configuration files. They are all empty.
Older releases worked perfectly...

My Hardware: Toshiba A300-14T

Have you got any ideas why I get empty configuration files?

Sorry for my English .

Re: Problems with netinstaller(64bit) on Toshiba A300-14T

I'm having the same problem with a Dell Inspiron 1525, video is Intel 965. I have been using arch for more than 1 year, and suddenly if I try to boot in runtime 3, I get a black screen.
Decided to do a clean install just for the sake of doing it, and got the same problem in the 2010.5 installer. Trying to change the console with Alt+Fx does not help.

A google search shows your laptop has GMA X3100, which is Intel GM965. Something is broken with the latest intel KMS drivers that is causing this, a lot of people have been reporting the same problem.

Adding "vga=773" to the boot parameters allowed me to boot the installer, and this doesn't affect you if you boot into X automatically later. This is only affecting the console...

See if this allows you to boot, and hopefully there will be a fix soon...

Edit:

For me, adding the right modules to the mkinitcpio.conf solved the problems of the blank screen when changing to KMS.
If anyone needs, just follow the instructions in the wiki: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Int … Setting.29

Works fine. Thanks!

Problem with configuration files was connected with partitions. I've made partitions manually(not with arch installer) and it solved my problem...
