Building conky for dwm

Hi, I'm new to Arch, but what I've seen so far is really cool.
I've got dwm running, but I want to rice it up a bit, so I want to install the AUR conky-cli.
I now have a file called PKGBUILD, but I don't really know how to build it.
I'm guessing I'm gonna have to get the source for conky, but how do I build it with this modifier?

Re: Building conky for dwm

you can also go with standard conky and configure it to write to stdout. Conky-cli was needed for previous releases.

Re: Building conky for dwm

If you're interested on showing icons, you can try sm4tik's icons along with dzen as status bar, here I posted my .conkyrc (based on jasonwryan config). It could be useful as example.

If you don't want to use an additional status bar, here's an explanation of Lokaltog's method (drawing some icons over some useless font characters).

Is there a trick to doing so now?  I have out_to_console yes within my ~/.conkyrc but it outputs to both the console and the desktop (I don't desire the latter).

Ah never mind, I see that out_to_x no was necessary for that.
