ETQW + Openbox

I've recently decided to give Openbox a try, and remove KDE and started fresh. Everything seems to be working great, except for one of my games. Enemy Territory: Quake wars.
It starts up fine, and everything's great until I join a server and load in. After I choose a side/class, the game is like a picture book.. meaning that it's stuttering so badly that it's like viewing multiple screenshots as I move, it's complelty unplayable, the first time it even crashed openbox back to my login with Slim. I've tried starting the game through the terminal, no errors that I can see. I'm just very confused, it worked perfectly in KDE. I've tried other games, Doom 3, Vendetta Online, etc. They all work fine in Openbox, but not that game.

Has anyone else had any issues like this with this game or configuration? Or any suggestions? Anything would be greatly appreciated.
