There is a link to the homepage at the bottom of that sad display. I guess that the site owners are trying to generate some support in the fight against patent laws for software??

Well hopefully there tactic will work. Mplayer is definitely not the only software violating these stupid patents.

i agree, software patents are really bad for the opensource community, let just hope that companies that supports opensource (like SUN, Novell and more) might help in some way
