Adopt owned Packages: Boxbackup

I have made new packages for boxbackup (boxbackup-server, boxbackup-client). I tried to contact the original owner to disown them but could not reach him. Is there any way to forcefully disown a package or should I just keep the new PKGBUILD's for me?
