JFS installation

Hello, I read much things about JFS and it seemed like it'd be my / fs for a long time. Though, from what I read in the wiki, I'm not much confident.

I'm doing an installation of Parabola, and don't know if JFS will be supported by the kernel. I mean I read in the wiki I should create a custom kernel for it to work.

I'm installing from ArchBang Live CD - any idea?

Re: JFS installation

JFS is a good alternative that I have used for a long time. It's really fast, so especially handy to have at /var/lib/pacman !
JFS is not being actively developed but there is still a bug killing team. It's included in the kernel and I doubt that they will take that out. So, give it a go!

What's Parabola? JFS is supported by the default Arch kernel, if that helps (you are asking on the Arch forum, after all).

Re: JFS installation

IIRC it's a completely FOSS distro based on Arch.
