Every time I login to Openbox I get a box requesting me to enter my password for my wireless network. I tried doing edit connections > mynetwork > wireless security > and typed in password, but it never saves.
So I then searched the wiki and found the section Automatically unlock keyring after login, but there is no gdm file and I have no clue which corresponding daemon I'm supposed to edit...

To save passwords in NetworkManager you will need keyring (gnome-keyring in [extra]). Using this will drag in a lot of gnome though, and since you are using openbox this is probably not what you want. As an alternative to networkmanager I would suggest wicd (also in [extra]), it can automatically connect and save passwords without the need for keyring and is generally a lighter alternative. I have always found keyring to be a bit annoying personally.

I believe an alternative that doesn't require the keyring would be to define it as a system level connection, by checking the "share with all users" box

I checked and it seems like I already have gnome-keyring installed.
I've been trying to avoid Wicd because it has been really buggy for me.

For some reason I can't click that box. It's shaded grey.

I suggest using Wicd instead of NetworkManager, it doesn't require a keyring.

Policykit is no longer available, try the polkit method instead.

Right click on the networkmanager-applet icon and select "Manage connections..."
Select "Other" > "Connections Secrets" > "In file (unencrypted)"
Done!

Mine is a little different. I right click "Edit Connections" and I don't see an "other" tab or option. I have NetworkManager Applet 0.8 installed.

Sorry Loafers, I'm using KDE with kdeplasma-applets-networkmanagement 1121484-1. I thought they would have similar features.
