KDE 4.5 beta fails to remember wallpaper image and employ 2 monitors.

I've just upgraded to KDE 4.5 beta and met 2 problems:

1. Every time I reboot, the default blue "wallpaper" image is restored and the one I've set is forgotten. Session persistence settings do not help.

2. When I plug in an external monitor to my laptop it is automatically set in clone mode. As soon as I use KDE System Settings to set it to work as an independent desktop, both screens backgrounds (System Settings window keeps ok and can open new windows, as Help window, for example) go black, all panels disappear and the only thing I can do is to press power button to bring up logout window and go reboot (and after reboot, screens again get cloned).

Does anybody know any possible workarounds?

Thanks in advance.
