Sorry if there was a topic about this before, but I remember, that some months ago, I could install moonlight by pacman -S moonlight. Now it's not even in aur/yaourt. What exactly happened? I would be surprised, if licensing problems would came, which didn't came with flash, nvidia, skype, etc.
Anyway, I could install it as a firefox extension, but I had to hack it out from my home directory, and it only works with chrome and firefox (neither Opera nor Konqueror). And actually the newest version (moonlight 3 preview) freezes my firefox. Maybe this is even a reason to not be in the repos?

I am wondering about this as well. When will we see it back in the AUR? I want to watch CTV's olympic coverage.

When we did a ffmpeg rebuild a while ago, moonlight wouldn't buid anymore (at least the newest version). It was supposed to be readded in extra but I guess ise didn't had the time yet.
Personally, I use the old moonlight package with an old ffmpeg library. Not ideal but it works.

here are some builds for it http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=87197
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Weird.
Installing Moonlight 3 Alpha as an extension in Firefox works fine...but it don't work in Chrome or any other browser.
Another vote for getting Moonlight back into repos/AUR here.

Maybe there is a new turret, or some walls have moved. Or perhaps someone has temporarily removed the floor under your bed."

I'm also finding that Moonlight 2 crashes Firefox (it won't even start) and Moonlight 3 doesn't. But Moonlight 3 also won't play the videos on NBC's site for olympic coverage.

I have Moonlight as a Firefox extension, from here:
http://www.go-mono.com/moonlight/prerelease.aspx
The site calls it version 3, preview 3, and it presents itself as 2.99.0.3.
It works okay for the Olympics stuff offered by the Norwegian Broadcasting Co., but I am not very impressed with the interface - unable to set full screen, a.o.t.

I have Moonlight as a Firefox extension, from here:
Links to XPIs there seem to be dead.
I've installed all the Mono and Moonlight stuff but have no Idea how to actually run a Moonlight application. If I meet a piece of Silverlight in the Web in Firefox, it just shows a Microsoft's "Download Silverlight" button. I've also wished to try developing a Moonlight application in MonoDevelop (2.4), but build and run options are just greyed there.

Set your UserAgent to Firefox/3.6.3 and try again!

Link is malformed. Here is the good one. http://www.go-mono.com/moonlight/downlo … 7-i586.xpi
Can you spot the difference?
