Ripping Audio CD's?
I was just wondering what fellow Archers use to RIP their legal CD's from disk to MP3 format? I recently decided to rid of my final Windows PC which I only used for iTunes and taking all my legally purchased CD's from disk to iTunes library. Do you guys recommend a application on Arch Linux that will allow me to rip all my CD's as MP3 at the highest available quality ~320 kbps.

I am not a fan of packages from AUR. Is there really nothing in community that will be updated and maintained by Pacman? I would think this is a basic package for such a functionality...

are you looking for only gui's? Because I'd just rip with cdparanoia, and encode with lame.
If you need a gui, k3b and grip were favorites of mine.

Yeah I like GUI's and since I don't use KDE, I don't want to mix KDE libraries with Gnome. I will try Grip as a GUI and Lame. Lame supports high quality MP3 bit rate, right?

yes, you can go up to 320 kbps. You can set the average bitrate to 320 kbps for abr and vbr.
With lame you can go up to 560 kbps using the free formats.

I'm probably going to get beat up for this, but I've found EAC to work under Wine without issue. And I'm more satisfied with the results I get from it than any native Linux app I've tried so far.

I agree w/EAC and wine working well, but, rubyripper does a fine job too.

+1, because it's really awesome letting me rip my cd's to both flac and ogg vorbis at the same time [sometimes I even add mp3 to the combo].

Except that he likes GUIs, and cdparanoia is entirely CLI 
.
As for EAC: it's the de facto standard, I'm running it in Wine as well. It has some features Rubyripper misses (last time I checked, at least, like matching rips by checksum against an online database).
