[SOLVED] chromium defaults to internal pc beeper

Hi there,

I have had this problem for a few months now and I have posted a few times regarding this but haven't had anything back as yet.

I use an external usb soundcard. My sound works flawlessly in every program except for chromium and konqurer. I do receive audio through headphones using both browsers but the only other trace of audio is the internal pc beeper.

Any help would really be appreciated as I have exhausted every other resource available,

Thanks,

I solved this problem following this:-

Using a USB Headset and External USB Sound Cards
If you are using a USB headset with ALSA you can try using asoundconf (currently only available from the AUR) to set the headset as the primary sound output. note: before running please make sure you have usb audio module enabled
#modprobe snd-usb-audio
you can add this to /etc/rc.conf if you wish
# asoundconf is-active
# asoundconf list
# asoundconf set-default-card <chosen soundcard>
