I have the same problem. Rolling back to 5.0.342 fixes it.
It looks like a different issue.

I'm not sure if this is relevant to the OP, but yesterday I decided to switch to the Ubuntu patched LCD packages from the ClearType ones. One of the side effects was that it fixed the font rendering issue in Chromium.
I'm using Chromium 5.0.375.70, by the way.

Too late. All mirrors are synced.
So how to fix fonts issue in chromium???

I have a "possible" fix to this issue. If you replace the standard X font rendering engine that ships with Arch for the Ubunto ones, as said in http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fon … d_packages Chromium font rendering will be normal again. Don't forget to install ttf-ms-fonts package. This is the way I fixed Chromium in my box.
I also have tested LCD patchless packages, but for a tiny margin, Ubuntu packages are still a little better.
Hope it works for you.
See ya
