NetworkManager

I've got some problems with NetworkManager.

1. Console cnetworkmanager simply does not work. It just returns, neither saying nor doing anything.

2. Installing network-manager-applet did not add any new applet to XFCE4.

3. NetworkManager fails to stop when shutting down.

In KDE NetworkManager applet works just ok, but I'd like to be able to use WiFi in XFCE and console as well.

Any ideas what can cause this and how to fix? My WiFi chip is IPW2200.
Thanks in advance.

PS: I've just tried XFCE and found it really good. The only thing keeping me in KDE now is a working WiFi.

Re: NetworkManager

network-manager-applet: Did you remember to start the applet (run `nm-applet`). It is a notification(tray)-applet and not a panel-applet so it does not automatically add a new applet to XFCE4.

cnetworkmanager: does `cnetworkmanager -h` do anything?

You can also try wicd.
