HP compaq 6720s - X problems after update

Hi all, I recently updated my laptop and since then I have some X related issues...
When I run a command in sakura it dowsn't show any output until I select it with the mouse, pcmanfm doesn't show if an icon is selected or not until I move the mouse cursor away from it, if I right click and then mouseover some element of the popup window said elements stay selected...
Basically my issues are not very important, nothing too bad... But they are many and annoy, I tried to check if there is a xorg.conf and no, there isn't...
Any suggestion about what I should do?
