EDIT::: by default no options are selected in the compiz settings manager, you must select "window decorations" stupid mistake.
after a long stint with awesomewm i decided to come back to gnome and wanted to use compiz. the problem is all the window decorators are gone! i can select metacity as the window manager, but all emerald themes have no titlebar/close/maximize/minimize button. changing emerald themes does nothing.
installed with:
pacman -S compiz-fusion-gtk
there is also an error i get.
$ fusion-icon
