Gnome: switch between users without the applet

Hi,

I just found out how to trigger the "switch to another user session" stuff in gdm/ConsoleKit without the applet.

The problem was: I'd like to share a laptop with my girlfriend, but she doesn't like my environment (i3, vimperator, ...). So I installed a full Gnome desktop including gdm. Everything is nice, except the user switching stuff. You can use the gdm-user-switch-applet from within gnome sessions, but not from other ones (like my plain i3 one).

I started to look at the source code of this applet, read about dbus and stuff, and finally got something working. I'm so proud :-)

If you are interested, here's the script:

It seems possible to switch to any available session, but I'm satisfied activating the gdm session, at least for now.
