Arch won't boot anymore

Hello,

Since this morning, my computer does no boot anymore under archlinux, it stop very soon in the boot process with this last lines :

Setting APIC routing to physical flat
.. Timer : vector=0x30 apic1=0 pin1=2 apic2=-1 pin2=-1
CPU0: iNTEL4r5 cORE4tm6 I+ CPU920@2.57Ghz stepping 04
Booting Node 0, Processors #1
CPU1 MCA banks CMCI:2 CMCI:3 CMCI:5 SHD:6 SHD:8
#2

And then, nothing. In fact it sometimes stop on #1, or #3, but it won't go further.

The motherboard is an Intel DX58S0, with BIOS v.1.1.0.L70

I don't think its a hardware problem, since windows (installed on an other hard drive, so I have to switch the bios setting to boot it) does boot.

If anyone have an idea, an argument I should pass through grub…

Re: Arch won't boot anymore

I'd just like to add a sort-of +1. After a kernel upgrade (from v2.6.33/May 13) I suddenly had the kernel warning me 'cpuN not responding' for at least core1/core2. Core3 reported 'ok', after which the log scrolled too fast for me to read (or scroll lock), followed by a reboot.

I've experienced this several times, inbetween Windows 7 at least booted twice without any issue. After a Prim95 stresstest running (seemingly) fine on all cores, I rebooted to Arch again and everything worked just fine.

I've got no clue what the cause is/(was?), I did spot recent posts on the BBS (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=97685) and lkml reporting similar issues. Perhaps a regression?

For completeness' sake: I'm running a Core2 Q6600 on a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R. Has been running slightly overclocked (3.0Ghz at ~3.125 V set, ~ 2.6 V actual).
