New computer - CD does not complete

Hello all!

I just finished building my new computer and popped in the 2010.5 Arch x64 Core CD. It then froze when it detected my USB mouse. I unplugged the mouse, and it froze detecting my HDD. I really don't know what to do. Please help.

Looks like you have trouble with the hotplug.
Install with nothing plugged and update your system.
# pacman -Syu

Look if you have hal in the DAEMON section of rc.conf.
If you have it :
# /etc/rc.d/hal stop
and remove it from the DAEMON section of rc.conf.

Do you have Xorg already installed ?
