Hello!
The directory structure for the mirror ftp.gigabit.nu has changed.
The root directory for http is now / as it is for ftp. Which means http://ftp.gigabit.nu/
Can anyone update the mirror wiki?..

Feel free to register and edit it. That's why it's a wiki. ![]()

Done. But it would be just logical for mirror maintainers to watch their own entries, so go for it next time.

Developers tend to dislike having a discussion about a matter in a bug post. As I interpret the postings should be:
* Technical (or move a technical standpoint forward)
* Include patches (or suggestion/pointers to code)
They should Not include:
* Personal opinion
* Nagging
* Discussion why a bug is a bug or a missing feature
I doubt that many of the users even know what this does to them.
Even touching the subject today actually gave quite a lot of discussable input.
As I said to misfit, if noone cares in the end the post will self die. You don't kill off user threads at random because someone has discussed it before. You do that with duplicate bug reports.
I also fail to see the trolling part, More than some may feel that what is posted may be subject to changing users mind. Then again that is not trolling, that's control of information flow. It feels like it is not allowed to be opinionated.

mhakali - you are absolutely correct. Posts in the bug report should be technical and/or include patches. That is why the bug report is an effective way of making progress, unlike numerous forum threads, that tend to contain "personal opinion, nagging, discussion why a bug is a bug or a missing feature".. etc.
As I suggested before, it would benefit everybody if this subject was left to those who are actively involved with Archlinux. It is clear that you are not, so again I wish you well and thank you for your contribution over the last four years.
This thread is now closed.

Addendum: Feel free to contribute a solution, or continue the conversation civilly. Here may be a good place to continue this discussion (without undue fanfare or drama).
Enjoy.
