Hi, I have a script that every couple of hours checks for & downloads my updates and then displays them with conky for a few minutes. It recently stopped working though. The script itself is still working fine but "export DISPLAY=:0" is not doing anything and hence conky isn't being displayed. I've managed to track the problem down to gdm 2.30.4-1 somehow interfering with the 'export' cmd. Downgrading to gdm 2.30.2-2 has fixed the problem and everything now works as it should, however it's far from an ideal soloution as i'd rather not have an 'out of date' pkg on my box.
I've searched in the all usual places and come up empty so does anybody have any ideas? Is this worth a bug report?

yes. report it on gnome bugtracker. they done a lot of work from 2.30.2->2.30.3 and in this version maybe they introduced this bug.
2.30.4 has only translations fixes
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
