[SOLVED] Chaning Titles?

Very sorry if this question has been asked/answered already, if it has I haven't found it yet. I was planning on editing the chmod stub to include the textual way of changing things and maybe give a mention of chown as the two cann come hand in hand, the reason being I recently created a partition but couldn't do anything with it as the permissions and owner was root, as was the group, and so I wasn't able to do anything with it until I figured this out and changed chmod and chown. I've been through the help on formatting and such to change stubs and styles and things, and had a read of the etiquette which tells me I should do things like use the discussion page before and during the edit, so I have a good idea on how to go about it - however I cannot see for the life of me how to change the title, because if I add content then the title Change chmod recursively/selectively will no longer apply as it will include the other text method of changing chmod, and will mention chown. I have the same issue with creating pages by clicking on the link in help on getting involved that takes you to the page My Wiki Page, which doesen't exist until you edit it to create a new page. Sorry if this is a really stupid question.

Cheers.

I think it's called redirection.
You create another page and link the previous one to the new one, so anyone looking for 'foo' or 'bar' goes to 'bar' wikipage.

Re: [SOLVED] Chaning Titles?

Ok, but I'm still unsure on how to actually create a blank/brand new page in the first place, in the help section there is a link to "New Page", but I don't undertand how this New Page is altered to no longer be called New Page so I can go ahead and edit it with what I want regarding chmod.

Re: [SOLVED] Chaning Titles?

Some pages are protected so that ordinary users can't mess them up but most pages can be edited and moved.
Take f.e. this one: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ALSA
There's the title

Advanced Linux Sound Architecture

and just below the title you can see

(Redirected from ALSA)

- that's how it will look like on the new page you create.

See the tabs on the top:

Page Discussion Edit History Move Watch

You click 'Move', choose a new title and you're set.
