Hello there, as I totally failed to install Catalyst or even radeonhd drivers (because of getting a black screen of death), my next step is going back to Xorg 17, since I am sure last months Catalyst was working Great. So the only change since then was Xorg (because I have also tried older catalyst versions)
I checked the wiki to do so, and added the repository of Xorg17, though I am getting the next error, if you could help me, I would be really thankfull, since its the only thing stopping me from totally coming to ArchLinux instead of LinuxMint
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: xf86-video-vesa and xorg-server-1.7-catalyst-maximize-fix are in conflict (xorg-server<1.8.0)
Off course I dont have those mentioned packages installed, So Idont know what to do next
Thanks, I just really want to come to Arch, I love it, but this is stopping me from doing so because I work with 3d Accelerated software

Did you remove the old xorg first before installing xorg-server-1.7-catalyst-maximize-fix?
pacman -Rd xorg-server
Offline
yes, I have deleted everything xorg related

Are you sure you put the xorg17 repo above the other repos in pacman.conf?
Did you do a pacman -Sy after modifying repo entries?
Are you sure you don't still have xf86-video-vesa package installed?
xfce | compiz | gmrun | urxvt | chromium | geany | aqualung | vlc | geeqie

Yes I did run -Sy and I am sure there is no vesa nor Xorg-Catalyst.
What I did not test is to put the repo above, I did put it below everything at the very last.
I will try, thx

Thank you, setting the repo above everything in the pacman.conf worked to install Xorg17
Too bad this didnt fix my black screen of death problem after installing catalyst drivers
I hoped so.. but there must be because of something else..
thx
