Higher resolution in bash?

Hi,
Just reinstalled Arch X64 and on the first boot I had a nice high resolution I have never seen before. After I rebooted it was back to the old resolution.

Where can I change this?

Re: Higher resolution in bash?

You might try playing around with the vga= parameter at boot.

Try adding

vga=ask

to your kernel boot line next time you boot and choose a higher resolution.

I have no clue whether this will work as expected; my machine does not have KMS enabled, whereas your's might.

Re: Higher resolution in bash?

Hi I have nvidia.

When doing vga=ask and choosed x (1600x1200x32) it works nice, but how can I change the grub line to always boot in this?

I tried vga=x but that did'nt work!

Re: Higher resolution in bash?

There's a hexidecimal number next to the "x", convert it to decimal and use this number after "vga="
