Hey, this is more of an issue with KDE4 but here goes.
I am being spammed by the kde write daemon when i set my system to shutdown from the terminal. i usually watch something at night on my computer, so its annoying for a message to appear every 10 minutes.
i had a look in the kde service system config, advanced > system services. but i can't see anythign in there.

When I used to run KDE I used to just disable the daemon completely
You can either just delete /usr/share/autostart/kwrited-autostart.desktop or you can be a bit more creative.
Create a file called ~/.kde4/share/config/kwritedrc containing the following
[General]
Autostart=false
Then edit /usr/share/autostart/kwrited-autostart.desktop and add the line
X-KDE-autostart-condition=kwritedrc:General:Autostart:true
This would leave the daemon enabled by default, but allow for it to be disabled on a user by user basis using the kwritedrc file above.
kwrited used to also consume a login entry in utmp (run users and/or w to verify) Does it still do that?
Edit: fixed bad path

The first suggestion is a lot simpler, and it works too. thanks.
