Finding new programs in Arch

Hello. I have my linux set up how I like it, but i always like to experiment and try new programs. So I was wondering, how do people in Arch find new programs? I know the website shows the lastest updates to packages, but it's not so useful if you focus is software exploration. Are there particular blogs or something that people use to keep up to date with new software and/or big updates/changes to programs?

Re: Finding new programs in Arch

I think most people find programs when they are in need of one. For example, if somebody needs a text editor, they google "linux text editor" or "what is the best text editor for linux?". wink

EDIT: Or this: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Common_Applications

There is a thread in Try This about the latest cool piece of software that Archers have found

It has some great stuff in it...

Re: Finding new programs in Arch

Are you sure you know all the programs you already have? Coreutils has a lot of fine stuff.

You can always write one.

Maybe not 'new' but some good ol' apps anyway - you can always package them for AUR
