cpufreq on dell xps 1330 (core 2duo t8100)

Hey there,
cpufreq does not seem to work on my notebook, it never bothored me, but now its freaking hot outside and my notebook goes nuts...

Even after consulting google i can not find a solution.

If it's the same problem as with my (Pentium-M) ASUS laptop, then your bios doesn't conform to what acpi-cpufreq expects. The kernel guys don't care about the thousands of people in that case and tell them just to upgrade their bios (even when there's no upgrade and there never will be) or fix it themselves. In my case I found out I could patch the (deprecated) speedstep-centrino module to make it work, but I don't know about core2duo cpus...

(And no, I don't think cpufreq-utils will be of any help.)

Make sure that all  BIOS special modes for cpu are disabled (for example, energy saving). These BIOS options sometimes conflict with acpi-cpufreq
