In folderview you used to be able to mouseover a folder and browse it's contents (handy, no need to open a file manager)but now it just tells me how many items are in it. Is there an option somewhere I need to tag? Can't believe such a useful feature would have been removed...
Cheers!

It looks like in KDE 4.4 there is no option to disable it. (see http://chakra-project.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?id=1310)Maybe for 4.5 they added the option, but disabled by default. Have you checked the folderview settings? (sorry, I feel stupid asking that question) ![]()

In KDE 4.5 there is a new icon (up arrow) when you mousever something in folderview. When you click this icon contents of the folder appear in a popup.
You can see how this looks like in this youtube video:

Thanks guys. Hash, I was suspecting something like that, thanks for the vid, but strangely I only have the + icon showing on folders and no arrow. I have 4.4.92-1 packages installed. Weird.

I can see the arrow. 4.4.92-1-i686 packages here.

Well, no arrows, but discovered that if I click where the arrow should be it works fine, so... good enough for rock n roll.
Thanks all.

You might want to take a look on this file:
/usr/share/apps/desktoptheme/default/widgets/action-overlays.svgz
if it's ok, you could be using some older plasma theme. Most of the themes that comes with kde 4.5 haven't been updated yet...
