Hi,
I just installed Archlinux on my old PC and I'd like to configure the graphic card properly.
With the default settings it works but I see flickering while moving the windows on the screen.
Searching the web I found this wiki page, that refers to my graphic device but seems a bit outdated http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mach64
Before starting experimenting on my system I'd like to have a confirmation on how to work.
Let's start from the beginning: I understood I have first to install the AUR package kernel26-mach64, but on the page it is flagged as out of date http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=32583
It is still safe to install that kernel or do I have to do other things in order to have my graphic card work properly?

Ideally, you should try to find patches that will work with the current kernel version - 2.6.34.1 at the moment. If/when you find them, use that AUR package as your starting point, and amend it as required to produce an up-to-date version of kernel26-mach64.
If you can't find up-to-date patches, you could try the existing 2.6.31.6 version in the AUR - however, that's a major downgrade, and you may find it necessary to downgrade other packages also. Maintaining that will become increasingly difficult as time goes on.

Can you give me any hint on where could i find the patches for the new kernel?

What I need is just a 2D driver, I don't need the 3D driver.
I already installerd xf86-video-mach64 (But I don't know if I configured it properly) and I have trails when I move windows.
Except from that everything is working fine.
Do you have any suggestion?
