Cpufreq and voltage changing

I've read that it's possible to change the cpu voltage using the kernel cpufreq function. I was looking for a tool that is capable of doing this and I couldn't find one.

How am I supposed to change Vcore now?   wink

Re: Cpufreq and voltage changing

I've found a solution for my problem on gentoo forums. I just thought I'll share the link with rest who would like to control their cpu voltages:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-27 … art-0.html

The newest(0.6) atxp1 patch isn't quite working, so here's the link to the version that compiles cleanly:

http://www.hasw.net/linux/atxp1-0.3.tar.bz2

Actually, I'm thinking about writing a power management wiki entry. It would include such things like:

-controling FSB with the kernel cpufreq feature(including some interesting tools for dynamic FSB changing).
-adjusting fan speeds,
-changing cpu voltages.
-Software Suspend 2 aka hibernation;)

I'll get to it when I have some more time. I'm sure that especially laptop users would appreciate sucha  howto.
