Audacious sound skips , continue

Hi,

I still have skips in sound of audacious, see this error

ALSA lib pcm.c:7245:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occured

I tryed, audacious , audacious hg and alpha, and the same..bug when i play sometimes i get skips and logs show me this error.

Im using 2.6.34-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jul 5 22:12:11 CEST 2010 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) 9750 Quad-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux.

Are you maxing out the CPU utilization? Try increasing its priority, e.g.:

schedtool -I -e audacious

Hi,

thx for reply i tryed the command but,

$ schedtool -I -e audacious
ERROR: missing priority; specify static priority via -p - value out of range / policy not implemented

It's implemented in the BFS scheduler - I use pf-kernel.

Or just use nice:
nice -n -4 audacious
... With the relevant entry in e.g. /etc/security/limits.d/91-limits-local.conf

whateveryourusernameis           -   nice            -4

Then re-login, to have the limits change take effect.
