to be honest: i cheated. I moved the window while taking the shot.
you can use the mousewhell on the titlebar to change transparency tho. (needs to be set up in systemsettings -> window behavior), but this will only be applied until the window gets closed.

then there is the settings dialog of the translucency plugin under systemsettings -> desktop -> all effects, but you can only change the transparency for inactive windows there.

to my desktop itself: nothing fancy. Some nice wallpaper, Neon FruiT icon theme, Glassified plasma.

Re: July 2010 Screenshots

Not much happening on my desktop but I have just switched from grub to extlinux for my boot loader after seeing it mentioned on the arch-dev-public mailing list.

Excuse the crappy iPhone pictures. I will need to setup a VM for experimenting with extlinux more. I am using the vesamenu module with a png background.

Looks like I'm not the only one who sticks post-its on my monitor to remember stuff!  Nice shot, have you got a link to the section of the arch-dev-public mailing list?

Wow, thanks for the great reply *foresees his afternoon being full with research* tongue

I found sticking post-its anywhere besides my Monitor led to me overlooking them.

Deja Vu Sans, either condensed or semi-condensed. It's my font for pretty much anything except the dzen bar (A japanese font, for those rare moments when I visit slashdot.jp).
