arrow key in rxvt pops up icewm window list

This weird bug has never happened before.  After the last pacman -Syu a couple days ago, whenever I use the up or down arrow keys in an rxvt window running bash,  the Windows List pops up.   AFIK I haven't screwed with anything in /etc or anywhere else, or upgraded or downgraded anything else beside the pacman system upgrade.  The problem quite perfectly didn't exist before, and was discovered only minutes after a reboot after the upgrade.

I'm running icewm 1.2.37, rxvt 2.6.4 (according to it; pacman -Q says rxvt-unicode 9.07-1, but I'm using my own build in /usr/local/src), bash 4.1.7(2) (pacman -Q reports 4.1.007-1), and kernel 2.6.34.1-1.

Re: arrow key in rxvt pops up icewm window list

I could paste in the log file, but it's about 450 lines long, after I've chopped off lines prior to the one most recent session.  Basically  "Everything" was upgraded including the kernel, bash, x11, but not rxvt.  One clue is when rxvt this odd phenomenon occurs, but konsole and xterm do not.

Also, while I'm not sure it's 100% reproducible, but when i start rxvt from an xterm, the up key always causes "lpr: command not found" to be printed on stderr, while down arrow brings up icewm's window list.  So far no other apps have acted strange.

Might it be some X11 config file, keymap, rxvt's assumptions about X keyboards as determined by some config file, something like that?

I have honestly no idea, but as you've updated everything, make sure you merged any .pacnew files that came along.

Re: arrow key in rxvt pops up icewm window list

Firefox with ctrl+ or ctrl- also acts strange. Actually, just tapping ctrl causes it to scroll.  But only the right ctrl key, not the left.  There do seem to be other weirdities too, but none I can quite catch as my fingers are faster than my brain... I'm wondering if maybe during the last bootup some cosmic ray went through the CPU or a power glitch sneaked in, messing up some keyboard-related part of the kernel in ram.   Got too many apps up right now, but will reboot and re-pacman tomorrow, hoping things will be normal.   In the meantime, it's annoying but not a show-stopper 99% of the time, and I use Konsole only for now.
