terminal transparency is great when reading some web page with code snippets and having your code in vim right there on top of it. all of this is not squished by an 11" screen.
sometimes what you have on top is not so easily distiguishable from whats on the bottom (eg. there is a wierd font on the web page and you cant see the blobs of ":::::::::" in cpan so well.
i need a way to tweek the transparency of the terminal on the fly. i want to be able to just hit some shortcut and make the terminal more or less opaque.
it could be nice to also switch color schemes on the fly with shortcut keys.
any ideas on how to do this? TIA

In theory - yeah, you assign some keybindings to some action, e.g. executing a script.

maybe ill just check the devilspie documentation and find out how to just decrease the opacity of the active window to get the layering effect.
