Rigs of Rods install

I have been trying to install Rigs of Rods. Something was wrong with the package in the AUR. I tried using the Ubuntu installer. It installed, but when I try to run rorconfig, I get this:

[tux@awesome ~]$ cd ~/rigsofrods/

[tux@awesome rigsofrods]$ chmod +x RoR.sh
[tux@awesome rigsofrods]$ chmod +x rorconfig

[tux@awesome rigsofrods]$ ./rorconfig.sh
./rorconfig: error while loading shared libraries: libOgreMain.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Could someone please tell me how to make it work? Also, I would like to know how to install addons. Every time I tried when I used Windows and Ubuntu, some or all of the other vehicles/terrains were taken way.

I made a thread on this a few months ago. I had to use a beta ubuntu installer and then copy a load of library's to /usr/lib. Sorry that that was vague but I really can't remember what I did. I tried to make a PKGBUILD but I couldn't check what I had done (my laptop's gpu overheated and it became unusable). I
Am so sorry BUT IT IS POSSIBLE!!!

I used an ubuntu beta installer and some mostly compiled source. I copied libs from the source and ran the executables that the intaller placed in my home directory to troubleshoot.

I saw your thread from a few months ago, but it didn't really help as it was too vague. I still don't quite understand what to do, but thanks anyways.

I know it's vague and I am really sorry but I can't honestly remember what I did and now that computer and hard drive are gone.

I tried using the guide at http://www.rigsofrods.com/wiki/pages/Co … nder_Linux since it has been updated to include Arch. I was able to install all of the dependencies except for cealum. I got this error while trying to install caelum.

I have ogre and cegui installed. I do not have any files called CEGUI-OGRE. Where can I get CEGUI-Ogre and how do I make it work for caelum to install? Thanks.

I think that caelum does the sky in Rigs of Rods, but do I need to install it if I use the sandstorm sky instead?

I recently did an Arch reinstall and I tried the Ubuntu installer again. I still get the same error. I tried running the Windows version in Wine, but that didn't work either.

I am still having the same problem with caelum, but I also cannot install ogre-pagedgeometry. I get this error.

I think that I almost have it. I have been following the instructions at http://www.rigsofrods.com/wiki/pages/Co … nder_Linux . When I ran the "make" command it went well until it got to 93%. I got this error:

It seems not to find the file "wx.h". The file is located in /usr/include/wx-2.8/wx/wx.h but it seems to search in wx/wx.h. Maybe the "wx-2.8" directory name is confusing the compiler?

We do have just about the exact same error, except yours is in German . I have not tried this yet, but I think uncommenting
#include <wx/wx.h>
in ~/ror-trunk/source/viewer/wxutils.h might help. I'll try it right now and get back to you guys.

I've tried it like this:

From what I remember, arch-games dropped this package because it was a nightmare to maintain. It's almost impossible to get built and installed. If you fix the PKGBUILD so it works normally again, please let us know and we might take it back.

If I ever get it working, I will see if I can figure out how to do a PKGBUILD.

I added -j3 to the make command to change the error. I think it is the same error along with a bunch of others because I think -j# tells it how many jobs to do at once, so with more things running at a time comes more errors.

Very strange, it has a problem to find another file now. Maybe you ran those link commands of mine? However, try

ln -s usr/include/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/gdk-pixbuf usr/include/gdk-pixbuf

But we should keep track of which links we create since this is really not a clean way to solve the problem.
