*please don't post large screenshots as img elements. Either create a smaller version of it, and use that--while providing a link to a larger version, or just link the larger version.
It makes the page take longer to load, as well as causing problems for users with different display resolutions.*

I just learned that I must use import for screenshots, because the GNOME screenshot utility produces big fat PNG images...

Yeah Openbox is *damn* sexy.. I used to run it with GNOME all the time, but lately I haven't got around to it. Metacity is sexy enough for me right now ;-)

I actually think Metacity is one of GNOME's problems... I dislike window minimizing effects that can't be turned off.

(Now if only I could import the whole GNOME menu to Fluxbox, I'd be happy...)

wasn't there an app that did this? like convert X menu to Y menu - it'd be interesting to do... I personally feel that freedesktop should standardize a menu format... or at least make a main menu file and some conversion utilities to spit out formats for different WMs

It is a fvwm based deviation called fvwm-crystal. It can be downloaded from neotuli repo, but I always prefer to get the most up-to-date version from the creator himself.

allright, since I have an unofficial e17 repo I've been working on a theme for it. I like it, too bad you can't see the animated wallpaper very well (you can if you look closer)

hmmm firefox doesn't like those screenshots - looks like they may be coming across as "text/plain" instead of "image/png"... I just get jumples of text...

Hm.. what version are you using? I've got Firefox 1.0 and can see them without any problem (although they load really, really slow)..

But on-topic: Nickm, your theme looks good, but it's a bit too dark to my liking (I've always liked "light" looking themes, easier on the eyes)...

I like it. It's consistent. And what makes a desktop look good?..consistency;) All parts join together to create a feeling of balance. There's only one thing that doesn't quite match, it's the not-so-good-looking xmms default skin. You change it, and it's all there mate.
