Hello everyone. I own Creative Audigy 4 soundcard and use it with 5.1 speakers. There never were any problems with it in linux. But after upgrade to 2.6.34 kernel I'd noticed that sound from front pair of speakers had disappeared. Subwoofer, front center and rear pair of speakers work well.
I'd tried different combinations of levels in alsamixer, but without any success. So, I suspect that there is some driver issue in recent alsa.
Also, I'd tested my card in windows, and all 5+1 speakers had worked fine there.
Does anybody have such an issue? Or may be you have some suggestions about solving it?

You have not mentioned the obvious cable check - switch the cables around.

Thanks for advice. But the "green" jack is silent under linux. With any speakers I plug in it. Under Windows it's alive.

After upgrade to 2.6.34.1 I still miss sound from front pair of speakers.

Could you please post the output of both 'arecord -l' and 'arecord -L'?

Here is the output

I've solved it. Accidentally. While playing in desperation with switches in alsamixer, I've turned off switch "S/PDIF Optical Raw". As the result, my front pair of speakers is alive now.
Edit: Also I should add that pulseaudio turns this switch on after each restart.
