Mystical networking problems on arch

Okay, trying to play Urban Terror and TC:E on Arch I am either unable to fetch the server list or I don't get any further than "awaiting gamestate..."

I tried the same Urban Terror version on Ubuntu which is installed on the same PC, and the game works perfectly, which led me to believe that this must be some sort of networking configuration problem on Arch.

I have emptied both /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny  (nothing but comments) and it still doesn't work.

Other than that I'm completely clueless.

EDIT:

I don't have a router, just a pptp modem, and I haven't consciously installed any firewall software.

Do you have any internet connection at all on that PC?

Surgat: Yeah, browsing and bittorrent work, I even tried installing apache and I *was* able to access it from an other computer.

Then you don't have any networking problems.

When fetching the server list you should only have an outgoing connection, so /etc/hosts.* don't get in the middle either. Maybe you are missing a needed optional dependency or something like that?

I don't think so, exactly the same .zip file contents work on Ubuntu but not on Arch.

UPDATE:

I've installed Warsow, can't fetch server list there too. However I can fetch game list on Wesnoth.

I don't know what to do..

EDIT:

Can't fetch on Nexuiz 2.x too..
