nvidia cuda-based transcoding

is there any way to transcode video to mp4 using the graphics card?  i know badaboom is available for windows.  TIA

All, and I really mean *all* cuda encoders are total crap. GPUs are not suitable for video encoding. They're not even suitable for decoding, graphic cards have dedicated chips for that.

Nothing beats x264, and if x264 not fast enough for you, invest in a quad core or even six core processor.
