You are not logged in.
This only happens once on each boot:
1.) I'll log into gnome from GDM
2.) I'll 'sudo' a command
3.) complete logout to console, then GDM comes back up.
When I log back in, everything will work fine and I never see this problem again.
If anyone needs to see logs (I didn't know which to post) lemme know!
