Thanks, that app would be surf, a web browser, with the homepage patch set to go to a custom homepage located on the hard drive.

their are reaching for some nice stuff... task oriented desktop is the future and Zeitgeist seems a VERY promising project. Also gtk3 will remove a lot of clutter.
gnome3 will not be that different. The only thing that could make it fail is gnome-shell, because that is what people will associate with gnome3.

It looks damn sexy, but right now its just not very usable... the rest of gnome will not change much at all. The same applications using a nearly identical toolkit.
Lets see what they make of it.

One can always run it with a different WM if he/she doesnt like gnome-shell.  smile
