Application Launchers

I'm currently working on my openbox setup and I've been thinking of adding an application launcher. I use tint2 at the moment but I was wanting to try either a menu based (like the a basic 'Start Menu') or a seperate, image based application launcher (like a standalone image with clickable application icons or something).

I'm wondering if anyone can suggest the best route to go about with this. I'm thinking of trying PyPanel, as I've heard good things about it, but I'm not sure if there are better avenues for making a custom launcher.

Re: Application Launchers

Lxpanel, bmpanel, and fbpanel all have launchers.

Re: Application Launchers

You can also use a standalone launcher like adeskbar. Just resize it and position it next to tint2.

Re: Application Launchers

Both fbpanel and lxpanel have start menus. You can also trick bmpanel to do that with xdotool (just create an icon and make its command "xdotool 'whatever your openbox menu shotcut keys are'"). AFAIK tint2 doesn't support launchers, yet.
