[SOLVED] DeadBeef Audio Player don`t see my mp3 files.

I installed correctly by respoitory, opened the program, clicked in menu + "add files".

I see a pcmanfm window and my mp3 folders, but don`t see my mp3 files inside the folders.

I need codecs or plugins to recognize my mp3`s ?

My sound system hardware using ALSA. Rhytimbox and others players recognize my mp3s.

ps: installed the program by ppa repository in official page + synaptic (DeadBeef)

Sorry for my poor english, i`m promissed improve him

You probably didn't read what pacman told you when you installed it:

From the PKGBUILD:

optdepends=('libvorbis: ogg vorbis playback', 'libmad: mp1/2/3 playback', 'flac: flac playback', 'curl: lastfm scrobbler, shoutcast, icecast, podcast support', 'wavpack: wv playback', 'libsndfile: wav playback', "libcdio and libcddb: audio cd playback", "ffmpeg: for aac, mpc, shn, aa3, oma, ac3, etc")

Try installing libmad.

Thanks for the fast help, Mr. Elending. big_smile

Really, I'm not using Arch Linux (i`m very newbie for this). I`m in this moment, using Linux Mint Lxde Isadora.

Members of Mint Forum, recommended the Arch Linux Wiki, for specific questions related with LXDE and i endend up liking the philosophy of arch community. smile Linux Mint is a relative new distro and the lxde mint more yet. The Lxde Mint Forum, has not enough information about certain tricks.

In my synaptic repository box, the libmad0 and libmad0-dev are installed, but i'm still with no mp3 support.

Again, thank`s a lot for help-me.

Try add folder and select your mp3 folder.

Thank`s for help Giselher big_smile

I found the problem:

I has two deadbeef installed, one compiled by me with bash (terminal) and one debian package installed by me with synaptic respository.

The solution:

Delete the compile Deadbeef:
cd deadbeef
make clean
make uninstall

Delete the .deb Deadbeef:
sudo apt-get uninstall remove --purge deadbeef

Re-install
sudo apt-get install deadbeef

Thank`s a lot for MR Elending and Giselher big_smile
